In het coalitieakkoord ‘Gewoon doen’ staat dat Gedeputeerde Staten deze coalitieperiode (2024-2027) willen experimenteren met nachtvervoer voor jongeren. Na consultatie met de doelgroep (jongeren) is gebleken dat er inderdaad een gebrek aan nachtvervoer wordt ervaren. Doordat het openbaar vervoer in Gelderland in het weekend doorgaans niet later rijdt dan ongeveer 01:00 zijn uitgaansmogelijkheden beperkt. Zo moeten concertgangers bijvoorbeeld vertrekken voor de toegift, of voelen studenten die bij hun ouders wonen zich afgezonderd van hun klasgenoten die in een studentenstad wonen. Het faciliteren van openbaar nachtvervoer in Gelderland vergroot de bereikbaarheid de Gelderlander.
